How I run my day homeI offer a fun focused day home environment where your child will enjoy spending their days and will be excited to return! As an educator my goal is to provide a safe and happy place for your child to learn and grow! I believe that children have absorbent minds and therefore I want children to have endless opportunities to play, explore, experiment and discover! Children learn so much through play, both educator led and free play. I offer activities that are developmentally appropriate for the children in my care as well as allowing them the opportunities to lead themselves and other children in a variety of experiences.

Who We Are |
My name is Kelly. I am a mother of two and I am married to my best friend. I am originally from Newfoundland but moved to Calgary in 2006. My husband John was born and raised in Calgary and works for the City of Calgary. Our son is 15 and is absolutely amazing with little ones and possibly the best big brother ever! He grew up in childcare, both with another educator first and then with me as the educator. Our daughter is 5. She is incredibly sweet, caring and just loves to learn. She is also an avid reader and already enjoying novels!
I have my Level 1 in Early Childhood Education, Prevent It Certificate with Little Warriors and I am currently registered for other webinars/courses. I love to learn and now that I am licensed with an agency, I plan to continue my education with all related courses I can in the coming months and years. That is just another perk to becoming licensed. I hold an up to date “First Aid in Child Care” course (which includes CPR), an Intervention Record Check, a police clearance (which includes a vulnerable sector search) and excellent references! I am also fully insured with a commercial business policy! I believe that communication is key to having a great relationship and to keep us working together to raise your child! I promise to be open and honest with you and I ask that you do the same with me! If you have any questions, concerns or suggestions, I am happy to listen and you can contact me anytime! |
Our History |
I have been caring for children of all ages for many years that began as a regular baby-sitting job 5 days a week for 3 children, aged 5 and under when I was just 13 years old, so over 20 years ago. I have since been a nanny for other families. However in July 2012 I quit my job at WestJet to stay home with my son and to open a day home! It’s one of the best decisions I have ever made – I love it and I wish I’d done it sooner!
After 5 years of running my day home, we were beyond excited to find out that we were finally expecting our second child! We decided it was time to move our family out of the big city and unfortunately that meant closing my day home for temporarily. It was incredibly hard to do but it was an important step for our family. I took an extended maternity leave with our second but have been open since January 2020 and couldn't be happier! |
