Hello! My name is Kelly. I am a mother of two wonderful children and I am married to my best friend. I am originally from Newfoundland but moved to Calgary in 2006. My husband John was born and raised in Calgary and works for the City of Calgary. Our son is 15 and is absolutely amazing with little ones and possibly the best big brother ever! He grew up in childcare, both with another educator first and then with me as the educator. Our daughter is 5. She is incredibly sweet, caring and just loves to learn. She is also an avid reader who is already enjoying novels and she loves to read stories to her friends!

NovaWe have a Siberian Husky who is incredibly sweet, loving and amazing with children. She also has lots of energy and loves to play fetch with the kiddos. She attends daycare once every week or two and is very well socialized and loves to talk/sing, like most Huskies! She also loves to meet new people and gets so very excited at the opportunity to do so.

Axolotls - Frosty, Nero, Toothless & Light FuryWe have a 75 gallon tank with four female axolotls and they are really such cool pets.
(Did you know? Axolotls are native to only one place in the entire world; Lake Xochimilco in Mexico. As such, they are considered an endangered species. Thankfully, for aquarium enthusiasts like myself; they are not considered endangered for captive bred ones, like those pictures above.) |
Community TankMy 50 gallon bow front is filled with community fish and live plants. We have various species of Tetras, Rasboras, Corys, Pleco's, Drawf Frogs, Bamboo Shrimp, Mollies, Danios, female Bettas and Mystery Snails. The children spend so much time watching this tank as its always quite active due to the variety of fish in it.

My African Cichlid TankI have a 90 gallon tank that houses about 50 African cichlids, many of which are different species. There is also a sail fin pleco that lives there and he is expected to grow up to 19" long!

Sally the SalamanderApparently, I have a love for amphibians as I have 5 now with the addition of Sally, the Tiger Salamander. She was a rescue who was in need of a new, loving home and of course I couldn't say no. She's been living her best Salamander life since joining us in early fall, 2022. The children love to watch her and get excited when she follows their fingers.

Our Shrimp TankI have a 15 gallon flex tank that houses Cherry, Blue, Yellow and Orange Neocaridina Shrimp, along with an albino long fin bristle-nose Pleco, a King Tiger Pleco and Mystery Snails.
