Q: What are your monthly fees? A: My fee's are set to be more flexible for parents. Please click here for more details.
Q: What is included with your rates? A: All meals and snacks while your child is in my care, as well as everything else your child will use while in my care (excluding diapers, wipes and bum cream or formulae & baby food - if used.) This fee covers not only my wage, but my insurance (both vehicle and day home), craft supplies, toys, party expenses and everything else your child uses while here!
Q: Are you a licensed day home? A: Yes! I am a licensed family day home
Q: Are you able to provide subsidy? A: Yes! I am able to offer the new government childcare grants and subsidy; to those who qualify.
Q: Do you offer a sibling discount? A: No, I do not offer sibling discounts.
Q: Do you transport the children to school? A: I do have the ability to transport children to/from school, however at this time I am not offering school transportation. That may change again in the future.
Q: Do I need to provide car seats for my child(ren)? A: No, you do not! I provide all car seats and ensure I have the correct seat for each child. I prefer to do it this way as I know the history of each seat and it stays properly installed in my SUV. It also saves me from having to install and uninstall the car seats anymore than necessary!
Q: What are your hours? A: My day home is open from 7:00 am to 4:45 pm, Monday to Friday! Please click here for more information.
Q: Do you work evenings and weekends? A: No, I do not. Occasionally I may be available past your contracted hours (specified in your contract and additional fees will apply) however that needs to be arranged in advance and is not guaranteed otherwise. Evenings and weekends are my family time and I ask that all families in my care respect that. This is also when I attempt to book any appointments I may need for myself or my kids, plus my children are in extra curricular activities that take up a lot of my evenings and weekends.
Q: How do payments work? A: My agency handles all the financials and they bill each family at the end of the month, after care has been offered. They have several different options for payment.
Q: Do you have First Aid and CPR? A: Yes I do! My most recent recertification for First Aid and CPR was November 2022 and it was completed through the Canadian Red Cross. Click here for more information on what certificates I do have!
Q: What do I need to supply? A: You need to supply a complete change of clothing, diapers, wipes and any diaper cream you would like me to use. I supply homogenized milk and if you'd like something different, then please provide that too and any formula or baby snacks your little one may need. Also if your child naps and has a specific security item, please send that too that will only be used for nap time.
Q: How do I know what my child did/ate during the day? A: Pick up time can be busy and hectic so it can be difficult for me to communicate everything about your child's day at this time. So as a result and to make communication easier, I use an app called "Brightwheel" and I complete daily reports that include the kids meals, bathroom breaks, nap schedules, notes and photos of each day. This app is free to download and I will send you a link via email once your child's registration forms and deposits are in hand. This app also tracks attendance and I can send you notices. You can communicate with me through the app too.
Q: Do you post photos of my child(ren) online or in advertising? A: The answer to this is yes and no. Yes, I do post photos of your children in my secret fb page that only parents/family members of the children in my care have access to see. I do have a permission form in my day home forms that allows me permission to do this. This group has been open for many years and holds thousands of wonderful memories for me of my time thus far as a day home provider. I also post photos to parents in the app mentioned above and sometimes they're sent via email or text. That said, any photos that are posted online for advertising purposes, on my website, or anything that may be seen by the general public, the children's faces are either blurred or blocked out.
Q: Why did you choose to run a day home? A: This answer is simple, because I love children! I love being there to share their accomplishments and helping them learn new things! I love to help prepare children for kindergarten and teaching them their ABC's, colours, etc. Having the ability to work from the comfort of my own home and essentially help raise other people's children gives me a sense of pride! I'm truly blessed to be able to do this!
